Fashion Hub - BCEFW AW2526
Budapest Central European Fashion Week is preparing for its 15th edition.
Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) will open its doors for the 15th time, and the event from the 10th to the 16th of February will duly celebrate the anniversary occasion. One of the highlighted events of Fashion Week, the Fashion Hub, hosted by the National Dance Theatre, will await those interested in the fashion and creative industries with a comprehensive range of professional programmes, interactive workshops, fashion presentations, and exhibitors. At the venue close to the fashion shows, a new series of life story interviews will be launched for the jubilee season, and every registered participant will receive a BCEFW gift.
The Fashion HUB has become one of the flagship events of BCEFW over the past three seasons, with its popular programmes covering a wide spectrum of the fashion industry. It has become a platform where you can peek into the behind-the-scenes of the fashion world, in addition to the shows, with professional guidance from renowned experts. While the audience can explore the newest autumn-winter collections at Millenáris, at the Fashion Hub, fashion is about more than just clothes: the programme series aims to make the fashion industry accessible in multiple dimensions.
From sustainability to streetwear trends and the newest technological and design innovations of the fashion and beauty industries, the Hub will cover a wide range of topics in presentations and roundtable discussions. Thus, the professional programmes will offer a deeper understanding of the fashion and creative industries, and creative workshops will provide visitors with a community experience and the joy of creation. In addition, eight Hungarian and two international designers’ fashion presentations will be displayed, providing visitors with an opportunity to meet the designers in person. The experience space, which you can visit for free on Saturday and Sunday, will feature creations from six exciting accessory brands, while the Beauty Corner will offer products from three Hungarian beauty industry brands.
The anniversary season enriches the Fashion Hub programme with brand new elements: this year, a tradition-setting life story interview series will be launched, focusing on iconic figures of the fashion and beauty industries, first putting Ági Pataki in the spotlight. Moreover, Massimo Morello, an iconic hairdresser of the international fashion world, who shapes beauty industry trends on the world’s most famous runways by blending his three-generation legacy, will give an exclusive interview. The goal of the programmes presenting the icons is to provide an inspiring example for entrants and suitably celebrate the richness of the Hungarian and regional fashion industry by presenting the life works of industry pioneers. As a special feature of the 15th season, every participant registered for a Fashion Hub programme will receive a unique BCEFW souvenir, which recalls the memorable seasons in the event’s history.
The first weekend day kicks off with the SKINAHOLIC lip care workshop, where participants can create personalised nourishing lip balms, lip glosses, and overnight lip masks using natural ingredients, with the help of expert cosmetologists Eszter and Noémi. Afterwards, a presentation by Sára Bálint, a stylist, will explore the topic of style as conscious self-expression, highlighting the benefits of a capsule wardrobe and offering practical tips for minimalist, personalised dressing. On Saturday, the next programme will be the discussion “Dressed for the Part – The Magical Power of Stage Costumes" exploring the role of performance costumes in artistic self-expression and social discourse through the personal experiences of OHNODY, Marge and Babé Sila Parallel to the exchange of ideas, the KREATOUR Japanese Sashiko Sewing Workshop, led by Andrea Földi, will begin, where participants can learn about the centuries-old Japanese tradition of fabric repair and reinforcement. To close the day, a panel discussion titled "Trends, Innovation, and Sustainability in Beauty" will address sustainability and innovation issues in the beauty industry, moderated by Zsófia Marencsák, with the participation of renowned professionals, including Adrienn Páll, Szabina Tomán, and Anna Harangvölgyi. The internationally recognised Babé Sila will crown the atmosphere of the evening with a DJ set.
The Sunday programme opens with the HEMPY People workshop, which presents sustainable applications of industrial hemp in textiles, construction, and paper production through practical examples, emphasising the importance of sustainability and community building. The afternoon continues with the roundtable discussion titled "Re-HUB – Recycling as the Future of Fashion," where Gergely Zámbó, Zsüli Madarász, and Szonja Lang share their insights on the future of sustainability and conscious design. Following this, Emese Zentai invites participants to create their own designed aluminium jewellery using simple craft techniques at the ZEMSE aluminium jewellery-making workshop. In the late afternoon session, Massimo Morello, style master of Kevin Murphy, will talk about the key challenges in his career, innovative visions, and sustainability efforts in an English-language interview. As the grand finale of the 15th BCEFW, Ági Pataki, model, fashion icon, and the iconic face of Helia-D, will offer a glimpse into the defining milestones of her career in the discussion titled "Style Icons, Stories, Inspirations," moderated by fashion journalist Csalár Bence.
