Hand-woven band exhibition

Location: 1133,  Budapest, XIII. district Hegedűs Gyula street 88-90.

Card-woven or pick up band, "bernyéc" and herringbone-woven belt: in the traditional textile culture of the Carpathian Basin, we can find these objects woven from a variety of materials, methods and compositions. Originally used as decorative elements of clothes, belts, yurt ribbons, saddlebag straps or even horse tools, the woven items may seem simple objects at first sight, but when compared to each other, the diversity, complexity, and delicate weaving of these small-volume items is spectacular. At the home exhibition of the Spin 'n' Fox workshop, in addition to the woven fabrics and the utility items made from them, the visitor can also gain an insight into the loom maker's workshop and even learn about the use of different ribbon weaving tools in practice.
