The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency Launches Creative Industries Survey
Budapest, 27 May 2025 ‒ The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) is launching a comprehensive survey to map Hungary’s fashion, design, beauty, and gaming industries. The questionnaire aims to provide an up-to-date picture of the challenges and opportunities for creative industry businesses and lay the foundation for targeted development strategies for the industry. The results of the survey, open until 15 June 2025, will significantly contribute to the Agency’s ability to provide effective support for the sector’s long-term growth.
The creative industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the European economy, with the greatest development potential. In Hungary, its gross added value doubled between 2010 and 2022. In addition to contributing to economic dynamism, the sector plays a key role in shaping the national brand image. Strengthening its players is, therefore, important from both economic and cultural perspectives.
“Hungary’s competitiveness strategy for 2024–2030 highlights the creative industries among its priority sectors. The sector ranks second in growth rate among all industries in Hungary. In addition, related sectors employ over 10,000 people. Therefore, it is especially important that we have detailed information on the situation of fashion, design, beauty, and gaming industry businesses and how economic changes and industry trends impact Hungarian manufacturers, distributors, designers, and service providers” – said Zsófia Jakab, Ministerial Commissioner for Creative Industry Development and Sectoral Coordination and CEO of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency.
The HFDA’s latest survey targets a wide range of creative industry players, from small businesses and cosmetics companies to designers and furniture manufacturers. The responses provided by industry businesses will help the HFDA to initiate informed policy dialogues, propose targeted support measures aligned with the sector’s needs, and promote long-term development strategies. The questions cover, among other things, the business models and economic situations of the companies, manufacturing capacities and supplier relationships, international presence and export opportunities, as well as the relationship with education, talent development, and professional communities.
The questionnaire is available at the following link: Creative Industry Landscape Survey.
The survey currently being launched is another milestone in the professional work of the HFDA. Based on the results of the 2021 survey examining the impact of the pandemic on the sector, the Agency developed an action plan and communicated the industry’s needs to economic policymakers in the form of a set of proposals, which has led to numerous policy dialogues.
