The second Manufacturer Mentoring Programme starts with eight fashion industry manufacturers

Thanks to the success of the first training, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency launches its second Manufacturers Mentoring Programme this autumn, which provides eight enterprises with an opportunity to grow by passing on business and manufacturing technology knowledge. The mentorees chosen by the professional jury can learn about the international market’s newest trends from the professionals of HEPA (Hungarian Export Promotion Agency) and other experts.

One of the essential strategic pillars of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s operation is manufacturing development, intending to strengthen the Hungarian manufacturing base. For realising this, the increase of factories’ exportability is indispensable in order to successfully fulfil the larger number of foreign orders and be able to employ more specialists during the implementation.

The Agency launched its first Manufacturers Mentoring Programme in 2020, which allowed six manufacturers to grow. Based on the feedback from the mentorees, the programme helped them recognise their businesses’ strengths and areas of development. Participants can gain knowledge of modern business and manufacturing technology during the training, which gives them a serious advantage on the international markets. Thanks to the training, they experienced progressive changes in areas such as organisational development, digitalisation or collaborations. Following the first programme’s success, the second Manufacturers Mentoring Programme was of great interest. Finally, eight candidates start their training in October by right of the professional jury’s decision.

Mainly manufacturers of underwear and/or outerwear take part in the five-month programme from this October: Matyodesign Nonprofit Kft., NDN Sport Kft., REHABIL Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft., Szegedi SZEFO Kft., and SZIRÉN Ruházati Kft. From footwear makers, Nestta-Cipő Kft., and from bags and straps manufacturers, ÁP Stúdió Kft., and Hunique Solution Kft. were given the opportunity to further improve their business and manufacturing technology skills.

In the first phase of the Manufacturers Mentoring Programme, the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency’s Export Academy Board members hold workshops for the participating businesses. During the presentations, they will talk about marketing on foreign markets, strategy building and branding, the tools of international promotion, increasing operational efficiency and technological innovations. Afterwards, Alexandra Horváth, specialist of Edutorial Tanácsadó Bt. provides an insight into the mysteries of profitable financial operations. Finally, Ákos Lukács, Deloitte Zrt.’s colleague, describes the range of effective practices related to sustainability, as well as future trends and challenges, through international and domestic case studies.

Four one-to-one consultations are offered for each participant as part of the course, held by Dr Andrea Sólyom, organisational development consultant and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) organisation. The talks help us see the processes and inner cooperation through an outsider expert’s lenses. By developing these areas, the business can embark on more successful advancement. EEN is one of the largest networks of supporters for enterprises globally, which aids small and medium enterprises, especially in entering foreign markets. To the great pleasure of many, innovation survey advice provided jointly by HEPA and Enterprise European Network (EEN) is also available for the manufacturers.
