Celebrating 15 Years of BCEFW: More Diverse Programmes and Collaborations Than Ever
The 15th edition of Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) will be held between the 10th and the 16th of February 2025, presenting the newest collections by nearly 50 designers from Hungary and six other countries. The event will celebrate its jubilee with special programmes, including the participation of fashion icons, sustainability initiatives, and exciting side events.
The 15th BCEFW features more international collaborations than ever, with its range of partnerships enriched through new collaborations with the Czech Fashion Council and the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week. Thus, in the AW2526 season, Czech, Serbian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Romanian, and Polish designers will debut alongside Hungarian brands. Through bilateral collaborations, not only do more foreign designers arrive at BCEFW, but Hungarian designers also gain the opportunity to showcase their collections at events in partner countries. As a result, Hungarian brands will have a solid international presence, and the Hungarian fashion industry’s market opportunities will expand.
During the fashion week, interesting programmes will await fashion enthusiasts every day. Due to the high number of applications, a three-day fashion weekend will take place again: on Friday, international designers and young talents will debut in the Apollo Gallery, and on Saturday and Sunday, Hungarian and Central European brands will unveil their autumn-winter collections at Millenáris.
At BCEFW AW2526, 16 emerging talents will get the opportunity to unveil their creations at the New Generation and Young Talents shows. The Fashion Hub will welcome visitors with workshops, roundtable discussions, and interesting lectures in the National Dance Theatre.
For the jubilee occasion, the fashion week programme will not only feature previous successful elements but will also expand with new ones. The HFDA also aims to draw greater attention to leading industry figures at the 15th BCEFW. To achieve this, HFDA is launching a series of life story interviews to make the inspiring stories of role models and icons in the fashion or beauty industry accessible to beginners. In addition, it aims to invite more seasoned professionals than ever to the front rows.
Sustainability will play a crucial role in February: in addition to the Conscious by BCEFW category, textile collection containers will be available at the venue, promoting recycling efforts. Zsófia Jakab, CEO of the HFDA, believes that “BCEFW has become a major fashion event in the region, presenting the newest innovations and circular solutions to the audience.”
The organisers aim to turn Budapest into the centre of fashion and creativity this week. Printed Fashion Maps will help you find your way around the venues.
