BRAND DESCRIPTION: Demeter Fogarasi is a Budapest-based furniture designer with a design-engineer background, aiming to create concept-based furniture through experiments. Emotions play a very important role in all of his work, blurring the line between art and functionality, resulting in furniture invoking poetry. 

“Design has always been a part of me in some way, yet I have never felt it this close. I like to think of furniture as jewels assigning life to spaces. Each piece has its own story to tell; in a way, they inhabit interiors, where their actual meaning is driven by the spectator. With my work, I aim to invoke the curiosity of one's inner child.“

PRODUCT NAME: Frozen Textile

Frozen Textile is an experimental armchair made from biodegradable composite. The project’s foundation is based on the concept of poetry in the context of design, viewed as a determinant in the emotional power of objects. The fabric is frozen in the moment of creation, forever held in a position simultaneously rigid and fluid. The seat dips in, as if inhabited by an invisible person, while the rest of the fabric extends in irregular ripples above and beyond the legs – as if blown by the wind.

"The idea was to create a furniture piece concerned with the poetic nature of the material used. While molding the seat, the originally soft material becomes rigid. I wanted to save the moment of creation, when a sheet is blown onto the frame, forming a chair."

PRODUCT NAME: Elephant in the Pond table

Elephant in a Pond Table is a glass coffee table, inspired by the work of Shiro Kuramata. The transparent geometric shapes come alive by the play of light. The robust shape of the legs contrasts with the lightness of the material, making the object elegantly strong yet light at the same time.

“The composition is the result of experimenting with basic shapes and proportions, letting light ‘do its job’ by delicately dancing in the reflections.”
