BRAND DESCRIPTION: Fanni Hegedűs creates unique artisanal furniture and wooden objects. She manufactures each piece based on her own design at her carpentry workshop. Her furniture is made of locally-grown solid wood, most often walnut, oak, or maple. Her objects are made as unique pieces or in small series, and the individual pieces are assembled into collections. She applies classical joinery and natural oil, wax or resin finishes.

PRODUCT NAME: Wooden Sculpture

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: I present the works of Hungarian artists with a non-functional series of spatial sculptures made of walnut wood. The base material of the sculpture family is solid wood from controlled domestic forestry. I use a natural, yet resistant oil and wax surface treatment for each piece. Basically, I deal with furniture-making, during which I consciously strive to use the remaining materials as widely as possible, trying to minimize the waste generated. Two years ago, I started making plastic parts related to my furniture from short raw materials and other non-functional objects, and I noticed that instead of the functionality and precision that overwhelms my average work dynamics, it gives me a lot of pleasure to occasionally yield to contingency, irregularity and intuition, which pushes awareness into the background. The resulting sculptures are not figurative, but can still be interpreted in a kind of psychoanalytical narrative. Reminiscent of forms worn smooth by the forces of nature, the plastics with their rounded and shiny surfaces are very stimulating to the touch.
