GM SQUARE

The sculpture is made of concrete, a monolithic cast, consisting of two colors: gray concrete and a material mixed with turquoise pigment. The two-color mixture, starting from the base of the sculpture, traverses the form through a cell-shutter system. It vividly depicts how these two colors flow within the entire form, thus showcasing the physical properties and regularities of concrete. The inspiration for this work comes from the increasingly widespread artificial coral reefs and breakwaters made of concrete. The artist intended to define two dominant perspectives of the accessible sculpture with green (G) and magenta (M) square frames.
