HFDA Academy Fashion Flash IV. Social Media in Fashion


The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organised the HFDA Academy Fashion Flash roundtable discussion series for the fourth time. At the event, titled „Social Media in Fashion”, held on the 25th of September, speakers were invited to discuss topics and opportunities from the point of view of the fashion industry and brands.

In the first-half of the two-part roundtable discussion, Dr. Ádám György (Lawyer) and Dániel Gergő Pintér (PR Strategist and Crisis Manager) held a short but useful briefing on GVH, while also touching upon competition law and the most effective types of communication strategies to the attendees.


In the second-half of the discussion, professional social media manager and Z generation designer, Ferencz Borbála, Youtuber Tomi Trunk, and Gergő Csiszár, founder of Post for Rent shared their insight and knowledge with the audience. Questions regarding the authenticity of influencers were discussed, as was the question regarding what kind of influencers (micro-, macro-, or mega) different brands should use. 

The main goal of the free event was to offer insight into the culture of social media, its newest trends, marketing strategies, and legislative environment from Hungarian professionals, involving designers on how to invest in online sales and content production.

Topics of the first-half of the roundtable discussion:

What are newest trends in the digital advertising market?
Which communication strategies are the most efficient?
At what level do social media pages influence sales and brand building?
Crisis communication and conflict management in social media
How can we diversify content creation?
How have laws and transparency changed regarding sponsored content?
How should paid or barter posts be marked?
How has the legislative environment changed since the GDPR regulation?

Topics of the second half of the roundtable discussion:

Is our buying decision process influenced stronger by the opinion of a person we accept compared to a billboard or TV advertisement?
Productive influencer marketing in brand building: micro-, macro-, or mega-influencer?
How to strengthen our personal or business brand
How can our messages reach the chosen target audience?
How to shield ourselves and react to negative feedback
Will the culture of social media be healthier if Instagram turns off the visibility of likes and followers?
