HFDA also joined the Hungarian Tourism Agency's first volunteer day
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) also joined the Hungarian Tourism Agency's first volunteer day organised for the employees of the agencies, which was held on the occasion of World Tourism Day on the 27th of September.
As one of the main aims of the HFDA is for Budapest to be a sustainable fashion city and for the capital to lead and pave the way for change in supporting the region in becoming more sustainable, these aspects were the most important factors when deciding on the programmes for the event. It was important for visitors to become familiar with creative and innovative working spaces and environments, where employees believe in: the promotion and support of sustainable products and services, the minimisation of pollution, eco-friendly packaging, purchasing local products, and working together with local organisations in using natural resources responsibly.
The students of two Budapest-based vocational secondary schools, the Jelky András Vocational School of Applied Arts and the Budapest Complex Vocational Center for Fashion, Applied Arts, Clothing and Leather attended the event. The tour consisted of four stops, with the first two, Printa and Pinkponilo, presenting the ins and outs of domestic fashion and sustainability, while the second two locations, Palmetta and the wood workshop of Hello Wood Technika showcased the elements of contemporary Hungarian design and also represented the DIY community.
