KYRA LÁSZLÓ

BRAND NAME: Kyra László

BRAND DESCRIPTION: In my creations, I am mainly inspired by spatial situations, sights, and sensations. The external and internal spaces are opposites and the tension inherent in this duality is what concerns me. Sculpting, sculpture, and self-expression in the visual world are equally interesting to me and are characteristics of my art. I am inspired by the world: the sights and the lived experience of these shape my art. Reality is important to me because I connect the small movements of my existence to it. What actually exists and what I feel and think about it are mixed in me.

For me, the creative process itself consists of long, ordinary day-to-day events, and the summary is finally defined in the objects. Very important elements of this process are photography and writing, which are more like notes and stand alone, yet they get involved and become part of my creations. In addition to glass art, I have always been interested in finding a way to express myself in other art forms and materials. Through shapes and lines, I am constantly looking for new opportunities that take me further in my artistic expression. The connection of different materials and a different formulation let me approach the topic from a new perspective and represent a new challenge for me.

PRODUCT NAME: Translucent

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: In my newer works, the sense of creating space is transformed into three dimensional lines, reduced to a single sign in its closed and yet open unity. Articulating, paraphrasing, and designating the experience of space becomes important to me. This unity is characteristic of my Translucent work.

PRODUCT NAME: Arrival

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: In my work entitled Arrival, this previous endeavor of mine is further simplified. A single line is used and thus the content becomes a single sign. The strong plasticity of the line is intentional, but the creation of the surface itself was shaped by the peculiar power of the glass. Its title not only refers to the nature of departure and arrival from a point, but it is no coincidence that it is similar to Denis Villeneuve's film of the same name. For me, the importance and understanding of signs and their meanings in this film created a similarity of thought.
