BRAND NAME: MALVINA
BRAND DESCRIPTION: These airy and floating artistic objects were created by Malvina Antal. Her installations aim to evoke intuition and emotion. Their informality enables playful interpretation, challenging viewers to consider perception, illumination, and the immediacy of aesthetic experience. The biomorph abstract forms ease the rigidity of geometric structures, such as the architectural components of an interior. The light dynamism of the curved, elliptical lines draws organic soft motion to static and angular spheres. Beyond their decorative nature and pure formal definitions, they feature the atmosphere of surrealism, mysticism, irrationality and spontaneity while also attributing romantic poetry.
The larger pieces fascinate visitors of all ages, providing a great opportunity for representation and entertainment and, together with the smaller parts, express the ratios of our surrounding nature. The objects of the series are able to decorate grand interiors, emphasizing uniqueness and specialness. Their suspension is so thin it is nearly invisible, allowing the installation to create the illusion of shapes floating in the air. Since mostly hanged from the ceiling, they demand spaces that other furnishings wouldn’t claim. The variable shell shapes can always be installed site-specific.
PRODUCT NAME: Bolero
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Bolero is a multi-piece installation inspired mostly by ballet movements. It is similar to Ravel’s work written for the dancer Ida Rubinstein. The textile is flexible and translucent like the skirts of dancers, which allowed me to freeze the phases of the movements in the air just like on a photograph, where the body blurs but the line of the motion is visible during the long exposure.
PRODUCT NAME: Contemplation on Iγ.γψ=πψ (as on the equation of the world)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: The double-piece sculpture was inspired by the physicist Paul Dirac’s equation and forms a Möbius strip like structure. It is made of polished jesmonite and broken marble, which gives it a robust feel and rhymes with the surface of rocks. The use of the rigid material, the opposite of the mellow shape, enabled me to develop my thoughts regarding the equation.
