ABOUT THE DESIGNERS
Eszter Kunos, designer of the Cherry Herd Nightstand is a product- and interior designer, digital marquetry maker, experimental hand-crafter, and Chief Designer of VUUV since the end of 2024. She believes, that the material world we have built around us should mirror the values we believe in, create the harmony where we find our tranquility and give the inspiration that leads us to growth. She loves every material and technology, should it be traditional or innovative, but always keeping sustainability in sight.
Liliána Mészáros, designer of the Lāni Chair, officially joined the VUUV team in 2024 and since then, she has been involved in many exciting projects as a designer. Previous small collaborations with the brand's founder laid the foundation for their current coordinated activities. Her passion for nature and mountaineering strongly shapes her vision for simple minimalism, which has been further influenced by her studies in architecture and graphic design. She believes that timeless aesthetics, free from fast changing trends, and sustainability are at the intersection of natural materials and that handmade products help to create a connection with our environment.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS
Lāni Chair
Lāni is a combination of quality workmanship, quality materials and a minimalist approach that embraces one of the brand's core motivations: a deep respect for the coordinated work of craftsmen and the raw beauty of the material.
In the object, the coldness of the heavy metal is in conscious contrast with the inviting warmth of the more airy wooden elements. The union of the elements, while functional, is intended to appeal to the senses, also giving a stronger aesthetic experience through its sculptural placement in space.
The heaviness of the structure is symbolic for the creators: it represents an immovable force that emphasises the importance of timelessness. Moreover, the wooden elements, more prone to maturing, remind us that timelessness is ultimately expressed in constant change.
