The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s incubator program titled design LAB connects manufacturers’ professionalism with designers’ creativity in a unique way. Manufacturers and designers can apply with a joint well-thought-out and detailed proposal to receive financial support for the development of mass-producible furniture, home accessories, and textiles. The HFDA designed the program based on the French VIA (Valorisation de l'Innovation dans l’Ameublement) Incubator programme. In addition, the French design institute participates in the professional evaluation of the entries as a professional partner.
The design LAB has set as its primary objective the promotion of successful collaborations between participants in the sector and the strengthening and modernisation of the domestic manufacturing base. In addition, the program aims to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing development and promote exports in the sector, which will support the utilisation and increase of Hungarian manufacturing capacities, reduce foreign exposure, and encourage Hungarian designers to enter the market.
