Ten successful Hungarian designers debuted in Paris

The Paris design fair held between the 9th and the 13th of September ended with excellent results. Ten talented Hungarian creators’ design products were on display under the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s Budapest Select umbrella brand. Furthermore, due to this year’s creative stand conception’s space divider solutions, the unique design objects raised foreign customers’, distributors’ and resellers’ attention even more, resulting in numerous agreements and negotiations between buyers and designers.

At the Maison&Objet fair, this year again, Hungarian brands were placed in the Signature hall known as the location of trend dictator brands. In the 70 square metre showroom, ten talented Hungarian product designers’ pieces were exhibited under the unified Budapest Select umbrella brand. Parallelly with the exhibition, another exposition opened during the Paris Design Week in the VIA French design institution, displaying innovative design products of excellent quality made during the design LAB incubation programme.

The stand conception divided the room with space divider solutions, putting the unique design products even more in the spotlight. The concept was characterised mainly by the use of raw materials and playful, mysterious elements so that during the visit the audience could discover the creations one by one, undisturbed.

The design fair was still in full swing when  Marie Claire Maison published its list of the best, freshest designers according to them in decoration and design. The Tangens furniture line presented at the Budapest Select stand occupies the honourable 12th place created by Sára Kele designer in collaboration with Rotte Group during the design LAB incubation period. Besides the French magazine, numerous international media picked up on the Hungarian creations and owing to the unified Hungarian appearance, the brands gained accentuated global visibility.

The Paris design fair is an excellent opportunity for Hungarian designers to raise foreign customers’ attention and lay down the basis of their entrance on the international market. This year’s exhibition was a significant opportunity for them since, after a long time, they could debut in front of the international audience in person again. Each designer gained more than 100 new design industry contacts, creating important relationships they can build on in the future. In addition, this year, more distributors and resellers spent time on Hungarian products, resulting in many negotiations between buyers and designers.
